Extreme colors
What happens when colors get cranked up to extremes? I am NOT a fan of extreme colors. But still, many people love extra vivid colors. So, I thought I try crank up the colors. ![]() ![]() The photos above, have color which are so intense! My eyes start to hurt. Well, it can be artsy, but just not my type. Black and whites are always better than color, in terms of photo judgement, as there's one less element to judge. In fact, color control is KEY to colored photos, and color MUST BE CONTROLLED. Many so-called experts have their art revered by many. Even professionals. Because they choose the easy way out, to do it in black and white. This is because greyscale is so much easier to control. There're only 2 elements. Black and white. So, it's just a balance between the dark and light. Getting the right amount isn't that hard. Compare that to color. Color has a much wider range than black and white. Let's make the 2 pictures to black and white now. :) I desaturated and also added noise, just so that the photos feel old. Yes, black and whites are OLD! It's time to move on with the times. HAHA! Not quite yet. I do appreciate old pictures too. I mean, they are nice to appreciate when viewed individually. However, I find it tiring and boring when asked to view like say 10s or 100s of black and whites. There're a ton of ways to make black and whites. How it came out is entirely up to the post processing. Even in film! Yes, during those days in film... post processing is so crucial to how your pics turn out. Don't believe me? Bring a set of negatives, go to different shops, you will notice the differences. ![]() ![]() And yes, I cannot emphasize how important it is to post process and control your colors. There is no ONE right way to color control. It is very subjective, and color control depends very much on the manipulator. It is the one which makes the key difference in a photo. Here's the colors according to my taste. :) You may like it, you may hate it... it is all very subjective. Which is why it's art. And this is also why art is interesting. ![]() ![]()
